Privacy Policy

TrueVahanInfo ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by Trueinception. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the TrueVahanInfo Android app and website, why we collect it, and how it is handled. TrueVahanInfo is an independent vehicle-information service and is not affiliated with any government body, RTO, or the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Information we collect

• Account details — your phone number and a password (stored as a one-way hash; we never store or can see your plain-text password).
• Wallet & payment proof — when you add balance, we store the amount, the UTR/transaction reference number, and the payment screenshot you upload, so our team can manually verify and approve the top-up. We do not process card or UPI payments ourselves and never see your bank/UPI credentials — payments go directly between you and our UPI ID or bank account.
• Vehicle searches — the registration numbers (and, for advanced search, chassis number) you search, and the report returned for them, saved to your account as your search history.
• Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) generated automatically by any web request, used only for security and debugging.

We do not collect your name, email, precise location, contacts, photos/media beyond the payment screenshot you choose to upload, or any device identifiers for advertising purposes.

How we use this information

• To create and secure your account and authenticate your sessions.
• To manually verify wallet top-up requests and credit the correct amount to your account.
• To fetch and return vehicle registration details from our licensed data provider, and to let you revisit or re-export past reports.
• To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the service secure.

Third parties we share data with

To look up a vehicle, the registration/chassis number you enter is sent to our licensed vehicle-data verification provider (IDfy) to retrieve RTO-linked records. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.

Data retention

We keep your account data, wallet transaction history and search history for as long as your account is active, so you can refer back to past reports and transactions. Payment-proof screenshots are retained for accounting and dispute resolution. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (below).

Security

Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text), sessions use signed tokens, and wallet balance changes are processed atomically on our servers to prevent double-spending. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.

Your choices

You can review your search and transaction history inside the app at any time. To request a copy of your data, ask a correction, or delete your account, contact us using the details below — we will act on the request within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

TrueVahanInfo is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
